“Enchanted” is the prompt for today, and the book “The Enchanted April” by Elizabeth von Arnim (1922) is where the prompt led me for this VOvember recording. I may just have to read the whole book someday. #VOvember #VOvember2019
November 6, 2019: “Husky”
“Husky” is the prompt du jour for my VOvember fun, and it brings us to this snippet from a not-well-known Charles Dickens novel called “Life And Adventures Of Martin Chuzzlewit.” #VOvember #VOvember2019
November 5, 2019: “Build”
It’s animation time for today’s VOvember. “Build” is the prompt, so here’s a wee bit of Fairy King animation VO adapted from “Story Lessons on Character-Building (Morals) and Manners” by Loïs Bates (1900). #VOvember #VOvember2019
November 4, 2019: “Freeze”
“Freeze” is the prompt from the awesome Inktober list that I’m taking inspiration from for VOvember day 4. The word freeze is at the heart of this 1951 SciFi story from Galaxy Science Fiction magazine called “Zeritsky’s Law” by Ann Griffith. My apologies in advance to the ASPCA. 😛 #VOvember #VOvember2019
November 3, 2019: “Bait”
VOvember prompt for day 3 is “bait” leading me to the book “Phil Bradley’s Mountain Boys or The Birch Bark Lodge” by Silas K. Boone written in 1915. Here’s a piece of that story for you. #VOvember #VOvember2019
November 2, 2019: “mindless”
Today’s VOvember prompt was the word “mindless” which led me to this gem from the December 1957 issue of Amazing Stories (and I do so love me some 1950s science fiction!). Enjoy the opening of “The Nothing Equation” by Tom Godwin. #VOvember #VOvember2019
November 1, 2019: “Ring”
Many of my fabu artist friends participated again this year in “Inktober” — a drawing every day in October to build/reinforce positive habits in their craft. Very cool, right? It inspired me last year to do the same thing with my voiceover work, and I’m running with the inspiration again this year. With a tip of the hat to Inktober, I call it VOvember – a quick bit of VO work every day in November to build/reinforce habits and elements of my art and craft at the mic. Here’s the first one of 2019. The prompt: “Ring.” The source: the 1854 story “The Rose and the Ring” by William Makepeace Thackeray. #VOvember #VOvember2019 #Inktober
November 30, 2018: “Tranquil”
“Tranquil.” A wonderful prompt to complete my VOvember recordings with. Especially on a less-than-tranquil day for many (Alaskans in particular). But, a rest from the storm is often welcome, so I’ve voiced this 77-second oasis from “Under the Trees and Elsewhere” by Hamilton Wright Mabie (1891) #VOvember #VOvember2018
November 29, 2018: “Roasted”
Only a couple more VOvember recordings left. And I was SO pleased to make tonight’s because the prompt of “Roasted” led me to a piece of writing that played to the bacon lover in me. Mmmmm, bacon. Here’s just under five minutes on “A Dissertation Upon Roast Pig.” #VOvember #VOvember2018
November 27, 2018: “Chicken”
If ya know me well, you know that if I am given a prompt of “Chicken” for voiceover work (and yes, that was the Inktober prompt I have for tonight’s VOvember recording), there’s only one thing for me to do with it! 😛 I speedily knocked out a little “Jingle Cluck”! Click. Listen. And happy holidays! #VOvember #VOvember2018 #HouseOfCluck
